From GMA News (Aug 22): PSG arrests woman for trying to bring gun to Palace
Presidential guards arrested a woman on Friday afternoon for allegedly trying to bring a cal-.45 pistol into the Malacañang compound in Manila.
The Presidential Security Group is now questioning the woman, initially identified as Flora Pineda, radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr. reported.
Initial investigation showed Pineda tried to enter the part of the Palace compound where the New Executive Building is located between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
She reportedly called for the removal of President Benigno Aquino III, supposedly because she pitied children affected by poverty.
The report said Pineda claimed she got the cal-.45 pistol from an eatery.
NEB houses several agencies under the Office of the President, including the Presidential Communications Operations Office and the offices of the presidential spokesperson and the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office.
