One person was killed while two others were wounded after barangay peacekeeping action team (BPATs) had a 25-minute firefight with a rival group in Barangay Tugal, Midsayap town,
This took place around 3:25 p.m. 6th Infantry Division public affairs officer Major Dante Gania said.
He added that the BPATs were assigned to Barangay Tugal chairman Ping Kolilong Pulalon.
Gania said that these men encountered armed men under one Kagi Kadoy who reportedly harbors a grudge against Pulalon.
In the issuing firefight, one BPAT member was killed while two others were wounded.
An undetermined number of injured/casualty were sustained by Kadoy's group.
Pursuit operations and investigations are now ongoing.
