From the Philippine News Agency (Aug 7): Military expresses support to DepEd's 'Abot Alam' program

The Philippine Army (PA) in cooperation with the AFP Officers Ladies Club Philippine Army Chapter on Thursday expressed its full support to the Department of Education (DepEd)'s "Abot Alam" program.

This took place at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

PA chief Lt. Gen. Hernando DCA Iriberri together with Army officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees were present along with DepEd Secretary Armin A. Luistro.

"Abot Alam" is a nationwide convergence program of various national government agencies and non-government organizations and institutions, with the vision of helping our out-of-school youth through opportunities for education, employment and entrepreneurship.

The AFP Officers’ Ladies Club Philippine Army Chapter signified its intention to support the program through information dissemination, conduct of the literacy/academics as part of the Alternative Learning System and for the sustainability of the program.

The PA likewise expressed its commitment to help and support the DepEd in achieving the zero out-of-school youth goal of the government.
