From the Philippine News Agency (Aug 25): 2 Army intel men wounded in NPA ambush

Two intelligence men of the Philippine Army were critically wounded in an ambush staged by New People's Army (NPA) rebels in Gubat, Sorsogon on Monday morning.

A police report identified the victims, who were rushed to the Sorsogon Provincial Hospital, as Pfc. Ariel Arganda and one Cpl. Dorano of the 903rd Infantry Brigade.

The report said the two military men were going to Barangay Buenavista, Gubat town to conduct an intelligence work on the possible moves of the NPA against government soldiers.

While on board a motorcycle towards Barangay Buenavista, Dorano and Arganda were ambushed by the rebels. They were hit in the different parts of their bodies.

The rebels immediately withdrew, giving chance for villagers to rush the victims to the hospital for treatment.
