The Philippines will be hosting the Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) 2014 which will be held from July 16 to 18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

In a statement, organizers said that the developing political scenario in the South China Sea has brought the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to the fore and as a result, the Filipino military is now focusing on how they can be best modernized and strengthened in order to fulfill their primary role of maintaining the territorial integrity of country.

"As a result of recent developments, the Armed Forces have urgently reviewed their modernization and procurement plans and have now been given the necessary budgets to develop their capability into a meaningful defense force in the region," it added.

ADAS 2014 organizers will be working closely with the AFP, the Philippine National Police, the Office of Civil Defense and the Philippine Coast Guard to encourage exhibitors participating in the show to set up meetings with relevant senior personnel in order to fully evaluate requirements regarding their upgrade and modernization plans.
