With
the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR) now in full swing, Philippine Army (PA)
commander Lt. Gen. Hernando DCA Iriberri said that the program seeks to imbed
to all its officers and enlisted personnel the culture of excellence and good
governance.
He
added that the ATS is part of their stakeholder engagement and the PA is very
aggressive on informing the public also that it is doing everything it can to
professionalize its ranks.
"We
do understand that a disciplined soldier, a soldier who does his job well, a
soldier who serves his people well, who protects his people and secures the
land, will ultimately be the spokesperson for the entire Philippine Army,"
Iriberri stated.
The
PA chief added that the ATS' goal is to plant the seeds of culture of excellence,
culture of good governance through operational excellence and organizational
excellence
"We
are trying to plant in each and every soldier that seed, culture of excellence
and good governance," Iriberri pointed out.
The
ATR seeks to turn the PA into a more capable, responsive, reliable, and
professional organization committed to its mandate.
It
was launched in 2010.
