Maximum security imposed inside military camp

From the Philippine News Agency (May 14): Maximum security imposed inside military camp

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan De Oro City – The army’s 4th Infantry Division, the largest military camp in Northern Mindanao here, has banned all public transport system to enter the military camp, the military said on Wednesday.

Lt. Col. Jose Leonard Gille, acting spokesperson of the army’s 4th ID, said that the new camp regulation is part of the “maximum security” that the military has adopted to eliminate “possible security breach” involving sensitive facilities inside the camp.

Gille said that four multipurpose cabs owned by the military command would be utilized to ferry the commuters inside the camp.

“Only command’s multipurpose cabs will be allowed to ferry commuters inside camp and scheduled to travel from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily,” Gille added.

He said that commuters shall be required to pay P 3.00 as one way fare to compensate for the fuel requirements of the cabs.

According to Gille, any increase of fare would be subject to the military command’s approval based on computed fuel and maintenance costs.

He said that taxi cabs may be allowed to enter camp premises even after 10:00 p.m. but should be monitored and controlled by the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battalion through the Military Police Company.

Gille has sought the public's understanding and urged the commuters to abide with the camp rules and regulation for the safety of the people and the environment inside the military camp.
