From the Philippine News Agency (Apr 24): Bangsamoro peace deal provides business opportunities to Malaysian investors

The Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro (CAB) signed between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will provide Malaysian investors with opportunities to explore business over there.

"Malaysia will continue to assist according to its ability based on the agreement made," he said responding to a question from Senator Datuk Adam Abdul Hamid who wanted to know the role and potential business opportunities for Malaysia in the senate, here Thursday.

Anifah said among areas that can be explored were halal food, financial management, banking, energy, agriculture, plantation and commodity, call center service and tourism.

Bangsamoro will also be a gateway for trade, investment and cultural exchanges between Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia thus creating peace and stability in the region.

The signing of the peace agreement and the existence of many business opportunities in Bangsamoro were expected to contain and reduce the inflow of Filipinos in Sabah.
