From the Philippine Information Agency (Feb 5): P1.6M livelihood fund turned over to former CPLA members organizations
A more than P1.6-million worth of check was turned-over
yesterday to the two organizations of former Cordillera People Liberation Army
(CPLA) members, now called Cordillera Forum for Peace and Development (CFPD).
The P1,641,500.00 livelihood assistance fund was received by officers of the Kabunian Peoples Organization (KPO) and the Hibla ng Pagkakaibigan Peoples Organization (HPPO) from Governor Denis Habawel. It was witnessed by representatives from Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and other concerned agencies.
Out of the total livelihood fund, the HPPO received P881,500.00 while P760,000.00 for the KPO that will be utilized in funding the various livelihood activities of the two POs.
Villa Alindayo of the PSWDO said that the released amount represents the first tranche or 10 percent of the P16,415,000 approved livelihood fund from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process contained in a memorandum of agreement signed earlier.
She explained that the two organization had proposed various livelihood ventures that include corn enhancement and marketing program, buy and sell of feeds, heavy equipment for community assistance, hollow-block making, one-stop auto shop and micro-lending.
Alindayo said the remaining amount will be released in two tranches upon completion of the needed requirements as stated in the guidelines.
