From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 25): 80 rebel guns seized by Eastern Mindanao Command troops

Troopers from the Eastern Mindanao Command have seized around 80 rebel firearms during the 14-month period covering the entire 2013 and first two months of the present year, Capt. Alberto Caber said on Tuesday.

Weapons seized by the unit in its anti-insurgency operations include 43 M-16 automatic rifles, 13 AK-47, 11 M-1 "Garand," eight M-14s and four carbines.

The Eastern Mindanao Command covers the provinces of Agusan Del Norte, Agusan Del Sur, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Davao del Norte, Davao Del Sur, Davao Oriental, Misamis Oriental, Surigao Del Norte, and Surigao Del Sur.

Caber said they expect to capture more rebel weapons before the end of 2014.
