From the Philippine News Agenc (Apr 16): Gunman shoots militiaman in Lamitan City

The police is conducting an in-depth probe to unmask the lone gunman behind the near-fatal shooting of a militiaman in Lamitan City, Basilan province on Monday.

Lamitan City police commander Chief Insp. Abmer Ismael identified the victim as Richard Macotocruz, 25.

Macotocruz is a militiaman in Barangay Bohe Tambis in the Municipality of Tuburan.

The victim was inside a lodging house where he resides in Barangay Maligaya, Lamitan City, when shot by the lone suspect, Ismael said.

The suspect fled aboard a motorcycle, he disclosed.
