Consistent with its thrust of enhancing conciliatory efforts in Mindanao through advocacy programs the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS) held a one-day forum-dialogue in Zamboanga City last March 30, 2013, with the theme dubbed as “ Bangsamoro Imperative for Unity and Solidarity towards KASAJITRAAN’. The activity was held at the Marcian Business Hotel in the City of Flowers.

The Forum was organized by CBCS- Zambaonga City and facilitated on by Mindanao Human Rights Action Center (MinHRac). It was attended by members of the two Moro fronts; the MNLF and MILF; the academe, religious leaders, women sector, youth and students. Other MNLF officers who were invited as official guests failed to attend. Mr.Muktar S. Jamud, CBCS Chairman of Zamoboanga City welcomed the participants. Prof. Alih S. Ayub, CBCS/academe presented the activity overview and also facilitated the program.

In the Morning session, before the open forum, the Facilitators implicitly stressed the importance of understanding and participation in the pursuit of sustainable peace in Mindanao, particularly in the Bangsamoro region. A facilitator further stressed that differences in views and understanding can be reconciled by discerning the main objectives; and that “we are in the same course and objective which stands on the common ground that the plight and interest of the Bangsamoro people must prevail”, he added. He further quoted some verses from the Holy Qur’an and Hadiths on the significance of participation and deep analysis of situations before undertaking any sort of actions.

In Afternoon session, Atty. Nasser Ynawat , Fil-Mus/CSO articulately explained the contexts of the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB). He elaborated how the ‘FAB’ takes its role as well as its crucial contributions to the Bangsamoro as a whole in their quest for doable peace and sustainable development in Mindanao.

Before the forum concluded, the participants have earnestly committed to take sorts of action plan in disseminating the FAB to Bangsasmoro communities and even outside the core areas of the proposed Bangsamoro region for public awareness and understanding.
