From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 27): Police to nab remnants of Jemaah Islamiyah

The police have identified the remnants of the alleged regional terror group Jemaah Islamiyah whose suspected Malaysian member was gunned down in Davao City, southern Philippines two weeks ago. Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the police were gathering evidence before making the arrests. "We are giving top priority in suppressing terrorism activities. The suspects involved in militancy are already on our radar," he told reporters here Thursday. Mohd Noor Fikrie Abd Kahar, 26, from Kedah was killed by the Philippine police at a hotel in Davao City Dec 14 after he threatened to blow up an explosive device in a rucksack. In another incident, Khalid warned the public not to get involved in smuggling and drug trafficking locally or abroad for every country is armed with legal provisions for each offence.
