From ABS-CBN (Nov 28): Suspected Abu Sayyaf member nabbed in Zamboanga

A suspected member of the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf was arrested in a joint operation by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Zamboanga City on Tuesday. The suspect, identified as Algaber Said alias “Talha,” was arrested inside a mall in Zamboanga. NBI-9 Regional Director Atty. Manuel Almendares said the suspect was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant for kidnapping with serious illegal detention. The suspect has been tagged as being involved in the Lamitan siege and the Dos Palmas kidnapping. Almendares also said a P600,000 reward has been offered for the arrest of Said, who is allegedly one of the supporters of former Abu Sayyaf leader Abdurajak Janjalani. Said was transported to Manila Tuesday night.
