CAMP MANUAL YAN, MAWAB, Compostela Valley: The military launched pursuit operations against members of the New People’s Army following an ambush that killed four soldiers 5:30 pm Sunday (Nov. 4) in Sitio Cinco, Brgy. Mapula, Paquibato District, Davao City. Lt. Colonel Lyndon Paniza, spokesperson of the 10th Infantry Division identified the victims as Privates First Class Ahian Vir Dolero , Marvin Lauronal, Noel Sigan whose remains are now in Villa Funeral Homes, Panabo City. He said Private Marcelo Himaya who was missing in the early search was found dead in a nearby area and believed to be summarily executed. Paniza said all victims belonged to the 60th Infantry Battalion. He said the four victims were on board three motorcycles and on civilian attire and unarmed when waylaid by more or less ten heavily armed men. “They were on their way back to their detachment after buying some goods when the incident happened,” Paniza said.
