From the Sun Star (Oct 7): US submarines dock in Subic

The USS Olympia (SSN 717), a submarine of the Los Angeles class design, arrived in Subic Bay last Friday for a routine port call, according to the US Embassy. The USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship of the United States, also docked here, in time for the Philblex 13 which will formally open on Monday. The US Embassy added that the port visit highlights the strong historic, community, and military connections between the United States and the Republic of the Philippines. This visit will allow the ship to replenish supplies, as well as give the crew an opportunity for rest and relaxation....
