𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲//𝑳𝑶𝑵𝑮 𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑭𝑳𝑰𝑪𝑻 𝑩𝑬𝑻𝑾𝑬𝑬𝑵 𝑻𝑾𝑶 𝑴𝑰𝑳𝑭 𝑩𝑰𝑨𝑭 𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑴𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑹𝑺 𝑯𝑨𝑺 𝑩𝑬𝑬𝑵 𝑹𝑬𝑺𝑶𝑳𝑽𝑬𝑫 𝑰𝑵 𝑯𝑨𝑫𝑱𝑰 𝑴𝑶𝑯𝑨𝑴𝑴𝑨𝑫 𝑨𝑱𝑼𝑳, 𝑩𝑨𝑺𝑰𝑳𝑨𝑵 𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑽𝑰𝑵𝑪𝑬.

HMA, BASILAN- The 14th Special Forces Company of the 4th Special Forces Battalion in collaboration with the local government unit of HMA, Municipal Police Station HMA, Provincial government of Basilan Province, 101st Infantry Brigade, JTF ORION and Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity conducted Conflict Resolution to mark the end of the long time conflict between two warring parties at Covered Court, Brgy Buton, Hadji Mohammad Ajul, Basilan Province on 16 January 2024.

The long-standing conflict between Jiun Arasad and party of Brgy Candiis and Tanad Nasalon and party of Brgy Langgong has been one of the major problems in the municipality of HMA for how many years. It took several years of sporadic confrontation between the two parties which inflicted several casualties on both sides, threatened the lives of civilians around their engagement areas, and damaged some of the properties. However, through a series of dialogues and negotiations, the feuding parties have finally decided and open-heartedly agreed to lay down their arms and cooperate in the peace process. With this decision, their family can now enjoy a normal way of living, have the opportunities to acquire a good education, and for the communities to have genuine and lasting peace in the Province of Basilan.

The successful resolution of the long-standing conflict led to the surrender of eight (cal. 5.56mm M16A1 Rifles and two (2) AR-15 Rifles from both warring parties. This was a result of the relentless and collaborative effort of the 14th Special Forces Company under CPT JAYSON B TABABAN (INF) PA, 4th Special Forces Battalion under the leadership of COL BERNARD P SAMIN INF (GSC) PA, HMA MPS under PLT ADONIS P LUCABEN, local government unit of Hadji Mohammad Ajul under the leadership of Mayor Talib G Pawaki, the Provincial Government of Basilan Province headed by Governor Hadjiman Hataman Salliman and the 101ST Infantry Brigade under the leadership of BGEN ALVIN V LUZON PA.

The activity was graced by MGEN IGNATIUS N PATRIMONIO PA, Commander of JTF ORION, and Mr. Ariel C Hernandez, Co-Chair of GPH-JNC.
