MANILA – France has committed to help in maintaining peace, security and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.

French non-resident Attaché of France to the Philippines Col. Pierre Millet made this assurance during his visit to the Philippine Navy (PN) headquarters in Manila on Wednesday.

"PN Vice Commander, Rear Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia, received Col. Millet for a courtesy call where they also exchanged insights about the ongoing Balikatan Exercise and other prospective engagements that will help the PN strengthen its capabilities," Navy spokesperson Captain Benjo Negranza said in a statement Wednesday night.

He added that Valencia extended the PN's appreciation of the cooperation and support coming from the French military and looked forward to having more engagements with like-minded navies.

“The PN is always happy to have like-minded navies, like the French Navy and the French Armed Forces, to support us in maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region," Valencia said.
