Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City – February 20, 2023

An officer of the communist terrorist group (CTG) was killed during a military operation in T’Boli, South Cotabato, on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

Maj. Gen. Alex Rillera, Commander of Joint Task Force Central, said that the troops of the 5th Special Forces Battalion under the 1st Mechanized Brigade conducted a raid at Purok Alaw, Sitio Lembed, Barangay Laconon, T’Boli which resulted in the successful neutralization of Marin Min Fay, a.k.a. Diego/Kidlat, the vice commanding officer (VCO) of the Front Organizational Command (FOC), Guerilla Front Musa, Far South Mindanao Region.

Recovered in Kidlat’s possession was: one cal. 45 pistol with live ammunition, one Suzuki Raider motorcycle, several identification cards, and other personal belongings.

Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, Commander of Western Mindanao Command, lauded the Joint Task Force Central for the accomplishment. He also urged the remnants of the CTG and other terror groups to make up their minds and end their armed struggles peacefully.

“It is best to win peace without any single bloodshed. We feel more accomplished whenever we send those who returned to the folds of the law back to their families and be productive citizens of their respective communities,” Lt. Gen. Galido added.
