The gifts and items given to the former rebels (FRs) were a simple gesture of the 36th IB personnel in accepting them and supporting their dreams of a peaceful and new life together with their family, 36th IB CMO officer 2nd Lt. Charita A. Igdalino told The Manila Bulletin on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
With this, the FRs expressed their sincerest gratitude and added that returning to the folds of the law was the best decision that they have made.
The 36th IB CMO officer said that the FRs also emphasized that other Communist and NPA Terrorists (CNTs) must surrender and go back to the mainstream of society in order to avail the programs of the government and be with their families and live peacefully.
Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Michael Rey S. Reuyan, commanding officer of the 36th IB, thanked the FRs for returning to the folds of the law and starting a new life.
The 36th IB commander vowed to continuously support FRs in embracing a normal life away from the local armed struggle.
