From Kalinaw News (Aug 18, 2022): DILG distributes P11.8M to 251 Former Rebels in Bukidnon

CAMP OSITO D BAHIAN, Malaybalay City – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded a total of Php11.808 million to two hundred fifty-one (251) Former Rebels (FRs) thru the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) on August 18, 2022, at Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

All the FRs received Php15,000 as immediate assistance, while one hundred twenty (120) FRs received Php50, 000 each as livelihood assistance and sixty-eight (68) FRs for the firearms remuneration.

Governor Rogelio Neil P Roque, Provincial Governor of Bukidnon, graced the activity, highlighting the turnover of firearms, the release of livelihood assistance, immediate assistance, reintegration assistance, and firearm remuneration as part of the Oath of Allegiance of Former Rebels to the Government of Bukidnon.

In his message, Governor Roque stated, “As a governor and a leader of this province, it is my honor and gratitude that you’ve returned to the folds of the law. This significant activity is proof that the government did not forget to help those individuals who are in need. It’s been decades since this insurgency started, and today I did not see any reason that we brothers and sisters fought each other for the sake of belief and dignity”.

“As of now, the government is determined to end this local communist armed conflict. We are so grateful that you finally decided to be back to the folds of the law and choose to live peacefully and harmoniously in the community with your families. We ask you to help the government by compelling your comrades who are still active in the armed struggle in the mountains and informing them of the government’s E-CLIP program. May this activity serve as an inspiration to others to avail the E-CLIP. Together, we can end insurgency”, COL TED B DUMOSMOG MNSA (INF) PA, Officer In-charge, 403rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, said.
