From Kalinaw News (Jun 4, 2022): Two FRs receive more than 100K financial assistance



A total of P104,000 was awarded to the former armed member and a former supporter of the Communist Terrorist Group on June 03, 2022 in Provincial Capitol, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Alias Bagyan, former CTG member received P65,000 (P50,000 for hog raising & P15,000 for immediate assistance) while alias Lucia, former member of Militia ng Bayan received P39,000 (P24,000 under firearm renumeration for surrendering cal. 38 & P15,000 for immediate assistance).

The financial assistance was awarded by Kalinga Governor Ferdinand Tubban through the assistance of 50th Infantry Battalion under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

“Through E-CLIP we aim to extend help to the members of terrorist CPP-NPA-NDF and Militia ng Bayan who wants to return to the folds of the law. This is exactly what we are doing now by giving assistance to our former rebels. We will not hesitate to give them what they need for their reintegration to the mainstream society,” LtC Melanio E Somera, Battalion Commander of 50th Infantry Battalion said.

Further, BGen Santiago I Enginco, Brigade Commander of 503rd Infantry Brigade urge the remaining members and supporters of the CTGs to return to the pillars of the government and grab the benefits that the government is offering. “We will never get tired of telling you to abandon now the terrorist group and live with your family and loved ones. Your army troops together with the government agencies will help and back you up towards the right path.”

Meanwhile, the DSWD pledged to give the said FRs additional financial assistance.
