Maj. Gen. Ariel Felicidario III
Another Army general used to be assigned in Negros Island, is now leading an elite unit of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
He is Maj. Gen. Ariel Felicidario III.
Felicidario recently assumed as commanding general of the AFP Special Operations Command, that supervises Special Forces (Airborne) Regiment, 1st Scout Ranger Regiment and the Light Reaction Regiment, which specializes in counter-terrorism operations.
Prior to assumption of his new command, Felicidario served as head of the AFP Education, Training and Doctrine Command, 11th Infantry Division deputy commander, 101st Infantry Brigade commander, and chief of the AFP Peace and Development Office.
He also served as chief of staff of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division in Jamindan, Capiz, as well as commander of the 1st Scout Ranger Battalion in central Negros.
Negrense Col. Eliglen Villaflor, who recently assumed command of the SF Regiment (Airborne), is under the supervision of SOCOM.
