BALER, Aurora-A former CPP-NPA Terrorist (CNTs) belonging to the primera of tha Aurora Provincial Committee yielded to Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division (Lead Unit) together with other security forces on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Identified as alias Ka Purong, a resident of Casiguran, Aurora was armed with one (1) M16 rifle with one (1) magazine loaded with 20 rounds of live ammunition when he surrendered at the Headquarter’s of Delta Company, 91st IB, 7ID, PA Brgy Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora.

In an exclusive interview with Ka Purong, he decided to surrender his high powered firearm to live peacefully together with his family.

“Gusto ko ng mamuhay ng mapayapa kung kayat isinuko ko ang aking baril dahil ayaw kong magtago nito at baka maging mitsa pa ito ng aking buhay,” Ka Purong said.

Ka Purong encouraged those who are still in hiding to come out and coordinate with the authorities to facilitate their surrender.

He assured them that once of his fellow comrades surrender they will be treated fairly as what he experienced.

Ka Purong added that with the help of other government agencies livelihood programs and all incentives that is entitled to under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) will be given to them.

“Sa aking mga kasamahan, sumuko na kayo habang may gobyernong kumakalinga sa mga naliligaw ng landas. Hindi po ako sinaktan ng mga sundalo bagkus ay malasakit at pagmamahal ang ginawa nila sa akin. Tinutulungan nila akong makapagbagong buhay at binibigyan ng livelihood assistance,” Ka Purong said.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Reandrew P. Rubio, commander of 91st IB lauded the efforts of 1st Lieutenant Carlo T. Omayon Jr. (Lead unit) of Delta Company and other security forces who facilitated the voluntary surrender of Ka Purong.

He said that the surrender of Ka Purong is a result of the continuous Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) and Focus Military Operation in the area in support to E.O. 70 of President Duterte and the comprehensive dissemination of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integrated Program (E-CLIP).

Rubio urged the public to support the implementation of EO 70 and encouraged the continuous coordination with the security counterparts and partner agencies to once and for all address the problem of insurgency so that the remnants of the KLG-SM will be totally wipe out in the province.

Ka Purong is now in the custody of Delta Company, 91IB located at Barangay Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora for custodial debriefing and documentation.
