Fort Andres Bonifacio, Metro Manila – The Army Signal Regiment and Rapid Emergency Telecommunications Team (RETT) Philippines Inc. officially signed the Terms of Reference (TOR) for ICT collaboration and partnership last 30 September 2021 9am, through a hybrid process of face-to-face, at the Conference Room of Headquarters, ASR, PA Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The historical event of partnership was witnessed by the Post Units and Territorial Signal Battalions and RETT PH Members via Video Teleconferencing (VTC). The RETT PH was represented by their President Engr Ornan S. Vicente while the Army Signal Regiment was represented by their Commander, BGEN MILTON Y BESET PA.

This partnership aims to strengthen the capabilities and enhance emergency response preparedness and disaster response, focusing on sharing of field of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) in any disasters that struct the country. Accordingly, the two partners, ASR and RETT PH, have the same goal in time of disaster: To Save Lives.

During the ceremony, Engr. Vicente said, “We bear the same blood our forefathers shed in Mactan and Bataan. We are called to respond to save and protect our country from annual storms, periodic earthquakes, and sudden emergencies Gratefully, we now have better tools and technologies. I believe, this is the reason why each one of us came here today. We heard the summon of humanitarian drums, we responded to the bugle call of the country. Thank you for responding to the call of our time”.

BGEN MILTON Y BESET PA in response to RETT PH said, “Let me thank our partners for their generosity and invaluable contribution to the Philippine Amy particularly in the Army Signal Regiment. It goes without saying that your assistance will truly help for the integration and well-coordinated emergency telecommunications to ensure the provision for early warning of impending threats as well as real time information of disaster occurrences to facilitate the decision-making and rapid response actions,”

With the Tropical Depression “Maring”, the partnership was tested. They initiated exchange of information during disaster in supporting the Signal Units at the ground.
