MAKILALA, COTABATO – The Philippine Army’s 1002nd Infantry Brigade and 39th Infantry Battalion expressed appreciation to the Provincial Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) North Cotabato after the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Farm-to-Market Road Projects worth Php 32 Million in Barangay Luayon, Makilala and Barangay Batang, Tulunan all of North Cotabato, today September 22, 2021.

“These start the realization of the need of the communities involved after our Community Support Team have heard their issues and eventually processed under the ELCAC mechanism.” Lieutenant Colonel Ezra Balagtey, Battalion Commander of 39th Infantry Battalion expressed.

“These projects play an important role in the establishment of a peaceful and conflict resilient communities and will render the CPP-NPA propaganda irrelevant.” Balagtey added.

The inaguration was led by the PTF-ELCAC Chairperson Governor Nancy A. Catamco in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Makilala and Tulunan, 1002nd Brigade, 39th Infantry Battalion, and North Cotabato Provincial Police Office.

In her talk, Governor Nancy Catamco of North Cotabato emphasized the sincerity of the Government in addressing the communities concern.

“The implementation of the Barangay Development Program clearly manifest that the government are true to its words and only the government programs can help the communities attain prosperity.” Catamco said.

Hon Rudy Cadungan, Barangay Chairman of Batang, the former Mayor of the Komiteng Rebolusyonaryo sa Munisipalidad (KRM) organized by the CTG ensures the cooperation of their community in peace and development efforts of the government.

“We thank the government for the realization of this programs that would surely benefit our community. This just show that the issues being exploited by the CPP-NPA terrorist are all fabricated and lies. Rest assured that our Barangay will fully support our government in all its peace and development agenda.” Hon Cadungan said.

On the other hand, Brigadier General Potenciano Camba, 1002Bde Commander expressed
appreciation to the support of the community during the immersion of the CSP team in these Barangays.

“Development can only be achieved in a peaceful environment. With the full cooperation of your community, your barangay was declared cleared and ready for development. Hence, we encourage everyone to continue embracing peace that will surely paved way for more programs and services to reach your barangay.” General Camba said.
