BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, March 7 (PIA) - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has provided livelihood assistance in the three barangays of Ambaguio town, benefiting 73 villagers.
Grace Pomar, DOLE Provincial Officer said the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers(TUPAD) program benefited eight villagers in barangay Napo, 28 in Dulli, 26 in Ammoeg and 11 in Camandag last year.
The four remote barangays of Ambaguio are identified as target areas of the Provincial Task Force (PTF)-End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).
"We are asking our local government officials to avail of our various livelihood assistance programs as we still have available funds for its target beneficiaries," Pomar said.
She made the report during the recent Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and PTF-ELCAC.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
