CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental- The 58th Infantry “Dimalulupig” Battalion under the leadership of Lt. Col. Ricky L Canatoy, administered the pinning of ranks to five newly promoted Dimalulupig personnel, and honored two of its ardent stakeholders during the flag raising ceremony at Headquarters 58IB, Sitio Migbanday, Poblacion, Claveria, Misamis Oriental, February 8, 2021.





A total of five Dimalulupig troopers satisfied the requirements set by the Philippine Army’s Promotion System and got promoted effective December 2020; wherein one of which is a First Lieutenant, one Staff Sergeant, two Sergeant, and one Corporal.

The said activity aims to recognize the newly promoted personnel for their sacrifice in securing the people and the country as well as to emphasize the morale and welfare of the troops to become more effective in their respective tasks.

After the pinning of ranks, held the recognition of stakeholders, Hon. Virgelia Dumadag, Board Member of Misamis Oriental, and Engineer Rosauro Kuinisala, who have showed their dedication and continuous support to 58IB which significantly contributed to the unit’s peace and development initiatives.

Meanwhile, Hon. Virgelia Dumadag expressed her heartfelt congratulations. “I am incredibly happy to be part of this meaningful occasion. Let me congratulate everyone for your well-deserved promotion. I know fully that you have earned and worked hard for the appointment of the position. You have received the promotion at a very dynamic time, a time when 58IB is gaining grounds and momentum in its effort to bring out peace and development in its area of responsibility, especially in Misamis Oriental. Congratulations, 58IB. Congratulations Lt. Col Canatoy. I am confident that we will reap more successes in the best ahead as we continue to forge our operation and partnership in the commitment of protecting our people’s rights and security. We the provincial government believes in the capacity and leadership of Lt. Col Canatoy and the sincerity of the troops in fulfilling their duties.”

On the other hand, Lt. Col. Ricky L. Canatoy, expressed his sentiments on this meaningful event. “I would like to extend my congratulations to all of you who are newly promoted. Another rank signifies additional benefits in terms of compensation and privileges. However, what is more important is the added responsibility. That rank insignia pinned to your chest symbolizes trust and confidence not only by our organization, but by the civilian people whom we swore to serve and protect. We continue in giving the best service that they deserve from us. Brace up for more challenges and good service that we will surely deliver to people, altogether with the Dimalulupig Troopers.
