From the Philippine News Agency (Jan 18, 2021): 3 NPA fronts in Southern Tagalog dismantled (By Priam Nepomuceno)
The military has dismantled three New People's Army (NPA) guerrilla fronts in the Southern Tagalog region, the commander of 2nd Infantry Division (2ID) based in Tanay, Rizal said Monday.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) official said the fronts -- responsible for the extortion, harassment of businesses, and destruction of government flagship projects -- are the Komiteng Larangang Gerilya-Cesar, the Platun Silangan Sub-Regional Military Area-4C, and the Platun Japson of Sub-Regional Military Area-4B.
"These achievements were made possible by the relentless efforts and commitment of our soldiers and the unity of all levels of government through the different Task Forces to End Local Armed Conflict in pursuit of the much-coveted peace for our country,” 2ID commander Maj. Gen. Greg Almerol said.
The dismantling of these fronts has put an end to the NPA’s terroristic activities in most parts of Region 4-A (Calabarzon).

Last Friday, AFP chief-of-staff Gen. Gilbert Gapay conferred battle streamer awards to various military units for the dismantling of 13 NPA fronts across the country.
He also urged military commanders to simultaneously address and defeat remaining and weakened communist guerrilla groups by yearend.
The military official is optimistic that with the intensified campaign against the NPA, the remaining members of the communist movement will surrender soon.
