MAWAB, Davao de Oro — The Kaibigan Battalion formally turned-over seven housing units to the former members of the Underground Mass Organization (UGMO) of the CPP NPA NDF at Sitio Magpalusong, Cabuyuan, Mabini.
The Kaibigan Pabahay Project 2020 was possible through the support of the PLGU DDO headed by Gov Jayvee Tyron Uy, Cong Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, LGU Mabini headed by Mayor Rey Dayanghirang, Team RPG MBC and the Sto Niño Parish headed by Fr Em-em Luego.
This project aims to uplift the living condition as well as provide a decent abode to the former members of the UGMOs who withdrew their support from the NPA.
Sitio Magpalusong was the former guerilla base of the WGF2. It was cleared through focused military operations and massive deployment of CSP Teams.
This effort resulted to the surrender of scores of communist NPA terrorists. Hundreds of mass supporters also withdrew their support from the NPA terrorists.
Now, the said sitio is transforming to a conflict resilient community as peace and order improves. Government programs and projects are now in the pipeline through the collaboration and strong partnership of various stakeholders.
