Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City- November 3, 2020

WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., on the morning of November 3, 2020, revealed that an all-out offensives against the Abu Sayyaf Group are continuously being conducted by the elements of the Joint Task Force Sulu to contain the terrorists and thwart their ruthless plans.

“Past 1:42 at dawn today, our troops conducted air and sea interdiction targeting members of the ASG/kidnap-for-ransom group under Mundi Sawadjaan and Radullan Sahiron. Exchanges of fires transpired which lasted for 25 minutes and resulted in the sinking of the boat utilized by more or less seven ASG members," said Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr.

According to Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr., the said ASG members are planning to conduct kidnapping activities in mainland Mindanao.

“Search and retrieval operations is currently being conducted utilizing our air and naval assets in the area of engagement,” said Maj. Gen William Gonzales, Commamder , Joint Task Force Sulu.

"We will use all our available air, naval, and ground assets to neutralize these local terrorist. This particular achievement is a result of our united efforts with the people of Sulu particularly our Tausug brothers in bringing lasting peace and development in the province of Sulu," Maj. Gen. Gonzales added.
