BALER, Aurora – Maj. Edward Pineda, the deputy administrator of the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone (Apeco) in the province, is now the new battalion commander of the Army's 307th Community Defense Center, the Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (ARRIBn).

Pineda officially assumed his new post, replacing Maj. Eleanor Prado, in a change-of-command ceremony on Saturday presided by Col. Roberto Sarmiento, group commander of the 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (3RCDG), Army Reserve Command based at the Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) in Tarlac.

“I promised that starting today, I will do my best to the fullest level as your new battalion commander of Army’s 307th ARRIBn, I will make sure that our battalion will be known in this province and other places as part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” Pineda said.

He also vowed to continue the plans started by his predecessor.

“We will do our best, we will work as a team, let us work hand-in-hand with the command to intensify recruitment of reservists and to ensure that the plans and programs for the province would be carried out,” he said.

Prado, in her message, thanked the Philippine Army for making her dream come true to be a soldier and for considering her request to step down because of her health condition.

Lt. Col. Reandrew Rubio, commander of 91st IB, thanked Prado for the support and services extended to the 91IB.

“We would like to congratulate Major Pineda, the newly-installed battalion commander of 307RRIBn. Rest assured that the 91IB will continue to support our reservists regardless of branch of service as we are part of the Team AFP,” Rubio said.
