CALOOCAN CITY, Oct. 3 (PIA) -- Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar vowed to help promote the collective security of the country as he took oath as new commissioned commander of the Philippine Navy Reserve Force under the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

“Serving as a civilian in our Armed Forces’ Reserve Force is truly one of the highest forms of national service, and, indeed, a staunch display of patriotism to our beloved country,” he said during the Donning of Ranks and Oath-taking Ceremony at the Philippine Navy Headquarters on Friday.

The PCOO chief is now part of the Reserve Force of the Philippine Navy as commissioned commander pursuant to the National Defense Act, which grants military officership rank to Presidential appointees, as recommended by the Chief of Staff.

“Now, as a commander in the Reserve Force of the Philippine Navy, my determination to further serve and to contribute to the preservation of peace and harmony for Filipinos and for our nation is amplified,” he said.

“I am also at the ready to help promote our collective security against those who continue to undermine our national integrity and interests,” he added.

“May the Armed Forces' collective and dedicated patriotic service to our country and our countrymen continue to be fruitful towards the attainment of the true change, lasting peace, and inclusive progress that our whole nation is working towards to achieve,” he said, as he also expressed his appreciation to the AFP.

Andanar’s commission order was released on May 25, 2020. (PIA NCR)
