Posted to Kalinaw News (Sep 14, 2020): Another former rebels get DTI Livelihood Kits
IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON. September 14 – Another three (3) former rebels (FRs) who voluntarily surrendered to the 8th Infantry “Dependable” Battalion (8IB) received PhP 8,000.00 worth of starter kits through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) livelihood and entrepreneurship program dubbed as Pangkabuhayan sa PagBangon at Ginhawa (PBG) in DTI Impasugong, Bukidnon on September 9, 2020.

The distribution of livelihood assistance of DTI is spearheaded by Mr. Jose D. Maureal, Senior Trade and Industries Development Specialist (SIDS) who wholeheartedly handed-over the starter kits to the three FRs whom each received working capital in the form of carpentry tools, groceries, and other support services to enable them to start a small sari-sari store and become an entrepreneur.
Alias Rey, one of the recipients, expressed his deep appreciation to the government, “Ako mapasalamaton sa lokal na gobyerno, sa ahensya sa DTI ug sa mga kasundalohan sa tanang plano, programang gipanghatag para sa among mga panginahanglan ug tabang panginabuhian, kung diin kini naga hatag kanamo og kadasig para manimoyo sa among bag-ong panginabuhi sa maayo nga gobyerno.” (I thanked the local government, DTI local agency, and the soldiers for their plans, programs, and livelihood assistance that they have given to us which gives us a motivation to live a new life in the folds of the good government).

(Let us thank our government for providing the help that you need. To our former rebels, this program is free and intended just for you. Make use of this to start a small business to help you lead a new life.)

(This activity is another milestone that this unit together with the local government and different agencies in Bukidnon show its sincerity in relentlessly providing interventions for our FRs which intend to help in reintegrating them into mainstream society and be productive citizens.)

Last August 25, 2020, two rebels who returned to the folds of the law also received PhP 8,000.00 worth of gardening tools at DTI Negosyo Center Sumilao.
