Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City- January 31, 2020

The Regional Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Council of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region held its first meeting for calendar year 2020 at the Alnor Convention Center, Alnor Mall, Cotabato City at 9am of January 31, 2020.

The meeting was presided by Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command, and was attended by Attorney Naguib Sinarimbo of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) BARMM; Police Brig. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz, the acting Director for Integrated Police Operations (TADIPO) Western Mindanao; and the top AFP and PNP officers from the different units/joint task forces in the BAR.

Presented during the meeting are the operational updates on the different campaigns launched by the AFP and PNP in the area. Also tackled are the best practices that the RJPSCC adopted which resulted in significant accomplishments.

“In 2019, there were a lot of accomplishments jointly achieved by the PNP and the Armed Forces, so let us sustain our efforts,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana.

“All these successes can be attributed to our very good convergence, very good coordination, and the synchronization of efforts,” he added.

“I understand that our level of understanding on the dynamics of conflict and peace is exceptional, so having that understanding there is no doubt that we are able to come up with our very comprehensive security template,” Lt. Gen. Sobejana continued.

Lt. Gen. Sobejana urged the security officials to support the Bangsamoro Organic Law and the Bangsamoro government in all of its endeavors.

“I would like to congratulate each and every one for the job well done and I am looking forward that we will achieved more successes as we continue our journey in bringing lasting peace and progress in this region,” Lt. Gen. Sobejana concluded.
