WESTMINCOM: 3 high-powered FAs recovered by operating troops in Midsayap

3 high-powered firearms and several ammunitions were recovered by joint elements of the 34th Infantry Battalion and PNP Midsayap in Barangay Nabalawag, Midsayap, North Cotabato yesterday, December 27, 2019.


“Operating troops were conducting joint law enforcement support operation targeting a notorious bomber of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters-Karialan Faction,” said Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, commander of the Joint Task Force Central.

Recovered were one M16 rifle Elisco, one M16 rifle Colt, and one M14 rifle.

Also recovered were 44 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition; 23 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition; seven M14 magazines; one M16 magazine (L); one ICOM (BAOFENG) with charger; one FM Transceiver FT 2900; one Nokia Cellular Phone; two pieces M16 Bandoleer; one M14 Bandoleer; and one Backpack.

“Congratulations to the troops of the 34IB under the Joint Task Force Central and PNP Midsayap for this remarkable accomplishment,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command.

“As we are about to welcome another year, let us remain steadfast in all our endeavors and maintain our strong interagency collaboration,” Lt. Gen. Sobejana added.

“We dedicate all our successes to our gallant soldiers, their families, and the peace-loving people of Mindanao,” he concluded.
