TACLOBAN CITY, Dec. 12 (PIA) - The profound effort of the Pinabacdao MTF-ELCAC has gained very positive results by yielding 33 NPA surrenderees of armed members, Militia ng Bayan (MBs) Sangay sa Partido sa Lokalidad (SPLs), Underground Mass Organizations (UGMOs) and their mass supporters in the area.

This was disclosed when the Pinabacdao, Samar Municipal Task Force-ELCAC headed by Mayor Teodorico Q. Mabag, convened its 2nd Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Summing Up meeting on December 9.

The purpose of the Summing Up meeting was to update the MTF-ELCAC on the result of the RCSP team performance during the conduct of initial immersion in the town’s five barangays namely, Barangays Pelaon, Magdawat, Manaing, Layo and Canlobo to address the issues being exploited by Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs).

The said activity was attended by Hon. Teodorico Q. Mabag, Chairman of the MTF-ELCAC, LGU’s Department Heads, MSWDO, MPDC, BFP, PNP, SB Members, the five Barangay Captains, TESDA, Col. Lenart Lilena, 801st Deputy Brigade Commander and Lt. Col. Rhomel R. Langcauon, Commanding Officer of 46IB.

Lt. Col. Langcauon said that of the 33 surrenderees, four are regular NPAs, eight belong to the Milisyang Bayan (MB) and Sangay sa Partido sa Lokalidad (SPL) and 21 are mass supporters.

Langcauon bared that the surrenderers are being assisted so they may be enrolled to the E-CLIP for former rebels.

“The DSWD and the DILG just finished the profiling last werk,” Lancauon added.

The RCSP Teams of Pinabacdao has commendable performance in delivering the basic social services in its contituents.

To recall, the Pinabacdao Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF ELCAC) held the first ever Community Support Program (CSP) summing up meeting in Samar sometime in October.

In the meeting, the briefing on Primary and Secondary Issues identified in the barangays resulted to the transcript of their ideas about the dimensions of the issue and what can be done to solve the problems and preserve the strengths that provides the basis for subsequent planning that will yield to a positive result in order to transform these affected areas to a conflict-resilient and develop community.
