Arakan, North Cotabato – In line with the Executive Order No. 70 (Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict) and NTF-ELCAC, the province of Cotabato with Hon. Gov. Nancy A. Catamco, Local Government Unit, Mayor Rene V. Rubino, PNP, different line agencies and 19th Infantry (Commando) battalion headed by LTC Benjamin A Dao-on INF (GSC) PA, conducted Serbisyo Caravan at Brgy. Datu Ladayon on December 10, 2019, Tuesday.

Under the Retooled – Community Support Program (RCSP) this Serbisyo Caravan is a multi-agency convergence services delivery, wherein it enables the government to implement a whole of nation approach together with different line agencies, stakeholders, PNP, AFP and LGU to focus their programs, projects and services to Communist NPA Terrorist (CNT) influenced areas. In order to eliminate the issues exploited by CNTs to gain mass support and deceive new recruits.

It was attended by different agencies such as DAR, DOH, DTI, LTO, PNP, AFP, NCIP, NHA, DENR, DSWD, DOLE, TESDA, etc. in order to deliver their services and programs. Some of the services delivered were seedlings distribution, food packs distribution, free medical and dental Check-up, free medicines, free haircut, free police clearance and livestock distribution. In addition, seminars, orientations and trainings were conducted.

19th Infantry (Commando) Battalion CMO section headed by 2LT DALE Y FORTUGALEZA (INF) PA, CMO Officer, conducted leafleting on Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), static display & photo booth, audio-visual promotional videos presentation and free haircut.

The highlight of the activity is the awarding of LGU assistance amounting to P15, 000.00 cash to sixteen (16) Former Rebels who yields to the combined efforts of Arakan LGU and 19th IB for this year alone. This initiative by the LGU shows that the government is ready to support those who wanted to go back to the folds of law and shows sincerity in ending the CNTs once and for all.

Gov. Nancy A. Catamco, emphasized that the provincial government of North Cotabato is always ready to support its constituents whatever circumstances be it and encouraged those who bear arms against the government to lay down their arms, for the government is here to support, guide and will help them get back to mainstream society.
