TACLOBAN CITY, Nov. 26 (PIA) -- One of the latest additions to the growing number of Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF ELCAC) in Eastern Visayas, is that of Leyte town in the province of Leyte.

The Joint Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Development Council meeting of the Municipality of Leyte moved for the creation of the MTF-ELCAC in Leyte, Leyte on Nov. 22, 2019 at the Municipal Training Center.

The creation was done after being oriented by the RTF8 ELCAC's Situational Awareness and Knowledge Management (SAKM) Cluster on EO 70 NTF-ELCAC, Call to Action, CPP/NPA Infiltration, and about the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.


About 60 council members composed of LGU department heads, Punong Barangays, community service officers, Sangguniang Bayan members led by Vice Mayor Armando Ysidoro were present.

Officers of the 93IB PA Bravo Company and PNP Regional Maneuver Force also attended the meeting.

MLGOO Alejandrino showed the DILG’s 7-minute video presentation on the Retooled Community Support Program and gave a quick explanation on the role of the LGU in the implementation of the EO 70 at the municipal and barangay levels. (PIA 8/NICA 8)
