CAMP SIONGCO, MAGUINDANAO – A member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) was killed in a military operation in Maguindanao, early morning of Saturday, October 5, 2019.

The BIFF member Kaliga Usman Kamsa was killed at around 6:15 a.m. in Upper Siling, Paglat, Maguindanao.

The deliberate operation was conducted by 40th Infantry Battalion under 2nd Lieutenant Estur to apprehend Kamsa but he escaped through his motorcycle. Nearby military patrol bases were immediately alerted that the target is riding his motorcycle. Kamsa figured in a shootout while trying to outrun the troops from Manlangit CAA Patrol Base.

The incident resulted to the death of Kamsa and recovered from his possession were two fragmentation hand grenades.

The troops coordinated to Pandag PNP for the turn-over of the remains of Kamsa and the recovered items for proper disposition.

Maj. Gen. Carreon lauded the troops for the successful operation.”I am encouraging the remaining combatants to surrender so they can take advantage of the government’s livelihood programs which are always available”, said Maj. Gen. Carreon.
