CABANATUAN CITY – Three alleged ranking members of the terrorist New People’s Army surrendered to police authorities in Nueva Ecija on Thursday.

Provincial police director Col. Leon Victor Rosete said the surrender of the three rebel personalities was facilitated by operatives of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company headed by Lt. Col. Norman Cacho and the provincial intelligence branch of the Nueva Ecija police office.

Rosete said two of them first yielded to Cacho and his men in San Jose City at 5 p.m.

The two rebel surrenderers, who are residents of the said city were described as a former secretary/supply officer (S4) of Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB) and a former secretary/squad supply officer (S4) of Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB) under the command of Leopoldo Caloza operating in Nueva Ecija.

Cacho said both have undergone various trainings/seminars such as the Batayang Kursong Militar (BKM) and Batayang Kursong Partido (BKP).

He said the third rebel returnee, a resident of Carranglan town, is a farmer, sawali-maker and a construction worker.

The police official described him as a former member and platoon supply officer (S4) of Sandatahang Yunit ng Propaganda (SYP) also under the command of Caloza operating in the towns of Lupao, Carranglan, Pantabangan and Bongabon, and in the areas of Aurora, Zambales, and Pangasinan.


Cacho said the three personalities are now under the custody of the 2nd PMFC for proper documentation and for continuous tactical debriefing.
