WESTMINCOM: Proposed natural oil exploration to create more jobs in BARMM

Posted to the Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM) Website (Aug 16, 2019): Proposed natural oil exploration to create more jobs in BARMM

A leading energy company discussed with military and local officials its proposal to launch a natural oil exploration project in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao today, August 16.

The Energy World Group, an energy industry focused on delivering clear energy throughout Asia, proposed its intention to enter into an agreement for the natural oil exploration in the BARMM region.

This exploration project is seen to create more employment opportunities for residents and former terrorists in Mindanao.

The Energy World Group said the exploration will be made in Sulu to ameliorate the province’s economic condition.

“The military is ready to support any joint venture, co-production, and sharing agreements that comply with the legal requirements and that redound to the benefits of the Bangsamoro people,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Western Mindanao Command.

“We are for peace and development in the Bangsamoro region, and we remain committed to support any development initiatives in the operational area,” he added.

The Energy World Corporation, Ltd. has taken the lead in the race to build an integrated liquefied natural gas facility in the Philippines.

BARMM Interim Chief Minister Murad Ebrahim and other security and BARMM officials joined the meeting with the Energy World Group in Cotabato City today.
