From the Manila Times (Sep 1, 2019): Family ‘abducted’ in NOccidental’s Himamaylan

A family, including a minor, was reportedly abducted by armed men early Friday morning in Bangga Miñez, Barangay 4, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

The victims were identified as Edilia Pacheco and daughter Aiza, Sherwin de la Rosa; 49-year-old Teresita Camanso, a daycare worker; and a 16-year-old boy.

Lt. Col. Erwin Glenn Provido, Himamaylan City police chief, said Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod reported the suspects barged into the house of the victims, blindfolded them and brought them to Mabinay town, Negros Oriental.

Camanso said they were asked by the armed men if there were any members of the New People’s Army residing in their house.

The suspects wore bonnets and carried long high-powered firearms, she said.

She added the suspects also gave them fare before leaving them at a waiting shed somewhere in Mabinay.

Camanso, a member of an indigenous people’s group, went and slept over at the Pachecos’ house.

Provido said the victims were unharmed by the suspects.

The Himamaylan police is conducting an investigation of incident.
