The municipality of Calatrava in Negros Occidental has declared the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) persona non grata.
Municipal officials led by Mayor Marilyn Era also condemned the unlawful activities of the communist-terrorist group.
“We, the local officials, are doing our best to find solutions to the people’s problems, and provide livelihood programs and development projects for the good of the barangays,” Era said.
The local chief executive asked for cooperation from her constituents and show concern for their hometown to achieve peace and progress.
Calatrava is the fourth local government unit (LGU) in the first district of Negros Occidental to make the declaration.
Others include San Carlos City, Escalante City, and Toboso.
