CAMP BANCASI, Butuan City – Government troops captured stocks of war material and other supplies and terrorists paraphernalia in the outskirts of Sitio Brazil, Barangay Mat-i, Surigao City, Capt. Regie H. Go, chief of Public Affairs Office (PAO) of the Army’s 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division (4th ID) said.
In an exclusive interview with The Manila Bulletin on Tuesday, the PAO chief of the 4th ID said the discovery of the war material, food supplies, and other paraphernalia came about after a former Communist rebel, who recently surrendered to the Army troops in the field, pinpointed the exact location of the arms and supply cache on Saturday (May 25).
“The former Milisya ng Bayan (MB) commander of the CPP-NPA Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee who voluntarily surrendered to our field troops led to the exact location of the supplies,” the PAO chief of the 4th ID said.
