2 mortar bombs found in La Union

From the Philippine News Agency (Apr 7, 2019): 2 mortar bombs found in La Union

AGOO, La Union — Two unexploded 60-millimeter mortar bombs were found along the coastal area of Barangay San Nicolas West, Agoo, La Union on Saturday.

Maj. Silverio Ordinado Jr, La Union police information officer, said the bombs have no fuse assembly and pin.

Monico Aspiras, chairman of San Nicolas West, said they did not see any person responsible in bringing the explosives in their barangay.

Police are also puzzled of what could be the motive of those who left the mortar bombs in the area.

Henry Sarmiento, 20, a resident of the area, said he saw the explosives while he was about to attend to personal necessity at the vacant lot along the seashore.

The bombs were picked up by policemen and were brought to the explosives division in Camp Florendo in San Fernando City.
