The Philippine Army’s relentless offensive operations have propelled New People’s Army (NPA) combatants to go on the run.

In a span of four days, three armed encounters occurred between the Army’s 61st Infantry Battalion and the New People’s Army (NPA) in Southern Panay.


The latest clash happened early morning of March 20, 2019 at Sitio Igburay, Barangay Indaluyon, Igbaras, Iloilo.

Lieutenant Colonel Sisenando Magbalot Jr., 61st IB commander, said his troops conducted strike operation after receiving reports of the presence of around 10 NPA members in the area.
