Heavy firefight erupted 11:30am this morning (Feb 2, 2019) between the troops of 5th Scout Ranger Battalion under LTC MARLO S JOMALESA with more or less 150 Abu Sayyaf group under Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan at Sitio Sungkog, Bgy Kabbon Takas, Patikul, Sulu.
Firefight lasted for 1hr & 50 min.
Initial Result:
Gov’t Side: Five (5) KIAs and eighteen (18) WIAs
Enemy Side: Three (3) killed and fifteen (15) wounded including Idang Susukan, sub leader of Sawadjaan.
Troops are still in pursuit of fleeing bandits.
