The bandits turned over themselves to the soldiers of 2nd Special Forces Battalion led by Lieutenant Colonel Jessie R Montoya through the efforts of Captain Rico G. Tagure and Maimbung Municipal Mayor Honorable Samier A. Tan.

Mohammad K. Boyhe a.k.a Hammad, Rojimar A. Dahim a.k.a Rodz, Abdu Amidol a.k.a Abdu, Kandang Abduhalim Jumadil a.k.a Heart, Tader Odong Asdure a.k.a Sofian, and Matar Hajarani Saliling a.k.a Match, all residents of Maimbung, Sulu also turned over six (6) high-powered firearms (one M14 Rifle, one M16A1, one M203 Grenade Launcher, one M79, and two US M1 Garand Rifles) and one low-powered firearm (Spring Field Armory Caliber 45) upon their surrender.

Said surrenderors were followers of different sub-leaders. Boyhe worked under the late ASG Sub-Leader (ASGSL) Alhabsy Misaya while Dahim was under ASGSL Gapor Jumdail. Amidol and Jumadil were former followers of ASGSL Doc Abu, Asdure of ASGSL Idang Susukan, and Saliling of ASGSL Jaber Susukan.

During the custodial debriefing and documentation at the Headquarters, 2SFBN in Sitio Bayug, Barangay Samak, Talipao, Sulu, the Abus revealed that they decided to surrender because of the activites launched by the Armed Forces of the Philippines for all the rebel returnees. They believe that they will soon be given the chance of a new life with their families.

Subjects were then brought to the Headquarters, 101st Brigade in Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista (KHTB), Busbus, Jolo, Sulu and were presented to the Brigade Commander Colonel Francisco Ariel A. Felicidario III after which they underwent medical check-up at the KHTB Station Hospital.

“We continue to urge the remaining bandits to lay down their arms, return to the folds of the law, and enjoy the benefits that the Duterte Administration through the Task Force Balik-loob offers to all rebel returnees,” said WestMinCom Chief Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega. WESTMINCOM / MCAG
