CAMP GONZALO SIONGCO, Maguindanao (DWDD) – Army troopers encountered members of the terrorist group Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom fighters (BIFF) in their camp located at Barangay Nabundas, Maguindanao.
In an interview by DWDD with Captain Arvin Encinas, spokesperson, 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division, the discovery of the BIFF camp was the result of extensive intelligence operation by authorities.
The leadership of the 6ID immediately dispatched troops from the 40th Infantry “” Batallion and successfully engaged and overran the BIFF camp.
The encounter lasted for half an hour where according to civilians, four (4) enemies were killed while no casualty on the government side.
Recovered from the BIFF camp were: one M16 rifle, one M14 rifle, one M79 Grenade Launcher, a Rocket Propelled Grenade or RPG, various magazines and ammunition and two (2) improvised explosive devices. AES / MCAG
